Responsible travel
Committed to sustainable tourism
Respect, trust and transparency are values that have guided our relationships with our partner agencies, suppliers and employees since our beginnings, more than 30 years ago.
Our specialty: small group trips, focused on the respectful practice of outdoor activities.
Our commitment to quality is demonstrated through our attention to detail.
At every stage of our travel planning and execution, we make conscious choices to improve our practices and move toward more sustainable tourism.
In our trips
- We advise our clients to strive for a balance between must-see destinations and less-frequented ones.
- We select our wildlife observation service providers based on their certifications, the quality of the experience offered, and their reputation for respecting animals.
- We work with local partners whenever possible, ensuring direct economic benefits for the communities we visit.
- In 2020-2021, we implemented a purchasing policy to favor our most eco-responsible suppliers and influence others to improve.
- Leave No Trace: We train our guides in the “Leave No Trace” principles and have been displaying them for customers to see in our vehicles since 2020.
- Meals: We promote eco-responsible choices for prepared meals: avoiding waste, preparing vegetarian meals, using local, organic, and bulk products when available, etc.
- Recycling: We encourage our guides to recycle during their trips.
- “GENEROSITY IS KINDNESS”: We donate all unopened, non-perishable food left over from our trips to food banks. We also donate our used but otherwise undamaged tents and sleeping bags to charities.
at the office
- We established a Green Committee in 2019 to manage projects and propose new ones to continually push our goals.
- We have drastically reduced printing (-50% in 2019 vs. 2018) and have been using 100% recycled paper since 2019.
- Since 2019, we have been offsetting CO2 emissions from employee business travel by planting trees with the Quebec organization Carbone Boréal, which is affiliated with a research chair on climate change.
- We sort waste at the office, including recycling and composting—depending on what the municipality offers.
- We donate obsolete computer equipment to Insertech, a recycling organization whose workforce is undergoing social reintegration.
- We raise awareness among our employees about adopting more sustainable behaviors through our newsletter and workshops.
- We have implemented an eco-responsible charter that is applied to company events (office drinks, Christmas parties, etc.).
- All employees have a bank of hours to use for volunteering.
