  • American Southwest
  • 16 days
  • April to October

Highlights

  • Spectacular Pacific Coast: Wave-beaten cliffs, coastal villages and scenic highways.
  • Legendary national parks: Yosemite, Sequoia and Joshua Tree — three completely different natural worlds: monumental granite, millennia-old giants and a starlit desert.
  • Iconic cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas — each with its own energy, history and unique atmosphere.
  • Day 1 – Arrival in San Francisco

Welcome to the city of hills, cable cars and colorful houses. San Francisco unfolds between a shimmering bay, iconic bridges and a bohemian atmosphere. Group meeting, hotel check-in and trip briefing. The first views over the bay set the tone for a varied adventure across California.

  • Day 2 – San Francisco

A day dedicated to exploring the city’s iconic neighborhoods: views of the Golden Gate Bridge, steep streets, lively waterfronts and a creative atmosphere. Each district has its own identity, from the Victorian charm of Haight-Ashbury to the piers of Fisherman’s Wharf. A gentle urban immersion between ocean and culture.

  • Day 3 – Point Reyes National Seashore

Head toward Point Reyes, a vast and protected coastal area. Cliffs, endless beaches and rolling green hills form a landscape shaped by the elements. The San Andreas Fault leaves visible traces here, reminding visitors of the region’s geological power. A day focused on wild nature and the open sea.

  • Day 4 – Monterey

Travel south along the legendary Highway 1. Stop in Pacifica, a small coastal town nestled between cliffs and ocean. Continue along the scenic route to Monterey, including the famous 17-Mile Drive, lined with ocean viewpoints and wind-sculpted landscapes. The day ends in the charming village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, with its flower-lined streets and elegant façades.

  • Day 5 – Monterey – Groveland

Discover Monterey Bay and its remarkably rich marine ecosystem before leaving the coast and heading inland. Gradually, the terrain rises and announces the Sierra Nevada. Arrival in Groveland, a small western-style town that serves as the gateway to Yosemite.

  • Days 6–7 – Yosemite National Park

Two full days to immerse yourself in one of California’s greatest natural treasures. Yosemite Valley reveals towering granite walls, powerful waterfalls and sunlit alpine meadows. Iconic viewpoints showcase the full grandeur of this monumental landscape shaped by glaciers and time. Beyond the valley, the park reveals other faces: fragrant pine forests, polished granite domes, quiet clearings and deep valleys where peaks rise on the horizon.

  • Day 8 – Sequoia National Park

Head toward another giant of nature: Sequoia National Park. Trails wind through some of the largest trees on Earth. The contrast between the immense trunks and the surrounding silence gives the place an almost sacred feel. Walking among these ancient giants is a truly memorable experience.

  • Day 9 – Los Angeles

Cross the fertile Central Valley before reaching Southern California. Agricultural landscapes gradually give way to the urban sprawl of Los Angeles. Skyscrapers, hills and palm trees create a familiar cinematic backdrop. Hollywood Boulevard, the Sunset Strip and the Santa Monica Pier offer a glimpse into the city’s many identities.

  • Day 10 – Catalina Island

Board a ferry for a Pacific crossing. In less than an hour, Catalina Island appears, with hills plunging into the sea and a Mediterranean atmosphere. The village of Avalon, with its colorful façades, lively harbor and winding streets, invites relaxed exploration. A gentler day at island pace.

  • Days 11–12 – San Diego

San Diego unfolds as a sunny interlude. Explore the city’s diverse neighborhoods: La Jolla, with its sculpted cliffs, sea caves and sea lions basking in the sun; Balboa Park, a green oasis with lush gardens, shaded paths and Hispanic architecture; and Chicano Park, known for its vibrant artistic spirit.

  • Day 13 – Joshua Tree

Leave the ocean behind and climb toward the Cuyamaca Mountains and the historic town of Julian, a legacy of the Gold Rush. The mountains then open onto the arid expanses of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Arrival in Yucca Valley, at the gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, where light, silence and star-filled skies create a unique atmosphere.

  • Day 14 – Joshua Tree – Route 66 – Las Vegas

Explore Hidden Valley, a rocky basin surrounded by striking formations and iconic Joshua trees. Then head north through the Mojave Desert, following a historic stretch of Route 66. Gradually, the desert gives way to the glow of Las Vegas neon lights, rising like a luminous oasis.

  • Day 15 – Las Vegas

A day dedicated to exploring Las Vegas, from Fremont Street to the spectacular hotels along the Strip. Beyond its exuberance, the city also reveals creative neighborhoods, art installations and surprising architecture. An intense urban stop at the crossroads of spectacle and design.
