To prepare a trip with special weather conditions such as the ones usually found in Canada during winter months, packing your stuff is only the first step. You need the right clothes for the right weather while managing the available space… Pretty tricky! So to make it easier for you, here are a few tips on what to bring and what to leave for a successful trip!
Grand Froid equipment for snowmobiling
For Snowmobiling, it is necessary to bring the appropriate gear for weather conditions (wind, snow…). So to properly enjoy your stay, we can provide you with the complete Grand Froid equipment. It is perfectly adapted and designed for maximum comfort during hiking. It comprises overalls, a jacket, a pair of gloves or mittens, a helmet with a tinted visor, a pair of boots designed for very low temperature and a tight bag of 35l.
During the snowmobile season (from December to the end of Mars), winter temperatures vary between 14 and minus 4 (degree Fahrenheit). So it is imperative to prepare yourself accordingly and take into account the many activities of the tour.
Depending on your tour, you’ll have many different activities apart from snowmobiling (hiking, snowshoes, dog sledding). Those outdoor activities require a peculiar suit: ski pants, coat, boots, gloves and neck warm will be more than necessary to enjoy your trip peacefully.
During this snowmobile tour, it is necessary to bring smooth and warm clothes to wear under the Grand Froid equipment. So you should also bring:
- Long-sleeved shirts ;
- A winter jacket, or a sweatshirt ( in short : warm and comfy clothes ) ;
- Warm underwear , long tights ;
- Flexible and broad pants ( avoid Jeans, it’s uncomfortable) ;
- Winter waterproof pants ( ski pants for activities other than snowmobiling) ;
- Thick socks, either wool or synthetic., and normal socks ;
- A hat, gloves of silk and wool or mittens ;
- Toilet bag :
- Lip balm,
- Wool scarf or a warm removable collar.
- Sunglasses and ski googles
- A Camera,adapter
- sun cream
Wearing cotton-made clothes is not advised.
We do however recommend you take a removable collar which fits perfectly with the snowmobiling suit.
For your snowmobiling tour, we recommend you a bag with a lock, or a sport bag of average size ( 75cmx40cm), a small bag for the trip’s necessities and a secured pocket or a protective belt for your papers.
